This book discusses several medicinal plants found in Malaysia and its surrounding, named Tongkat Ali, Orthosiphon stamineus (Misai Kucing), Andrographis paniculata (Hempedu Bumi), Nephelium lappaceum (Rambutan) and Christia vespertilionis (Butterfly Wings). The plants were selected based on their aphrodisiac, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic and anti-cancer properties. Additionally, a chapter dedicated to a domesticated plant, Rambutan, with multiple usages of its parts such as peels and kernels for the purpose of waste to wealth, has also been included. This book also provides information such as botanical classifications standard and local names, traditional usages, phytochemicals, scientific studies, industrial applications, and others of the selected plants. The recent scientific work by the authors and other researchers related to biotechnology was outlined. This book may be helpful for anyone working on the plants described within, or newer ones yet to be explored in the rich biodiversity of Malaysia and its surrounding countries. Hence, the book content is a good source of reading material for undergraduates, postgraduates, and scientists in the field of biological sciences, or for anyone keen to understand the marvels of plants for their therapeutic and biotechnology applications.
